A-Z Bookish Survey

What better way to start the year than with a tag. I really want to do more of them this year. This fun tag was created by Jamie //

Author you’ve read the most books from:

I'm at nine by Sarah J. Maas.

Best Sequel Ever:

I'm going to try really hard not to be predictable here *cough* A Court Of Mist And Fury. Honestly though, it really is the best.

Currently Reading:

Geekerella by Ashley Poston. I'm on a fluffy ya contemporary kick.

Drink of Choice While Reading:

Coffee, especially if I'm really enjoying a book. I've got to make sure I don't end up falling asleep during a good bit.

E-reader or Physical Book?

This is a total mood thing for me. I love an e-reader for when I've turned the lights off and gotten into bed (with the short lived intention of actually sleeping) but I do think I prefer physical books. I'm not massively fussy though, e-books are generally cheaper so you can buy more.

Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:

Pass. I didn't date in high school and I have no idea who 16 year old me would have clicked with. I do feel like I would have had the biggest crush on Jace from The Mortal Instruments series but I would have done absolutely nothing about it.

Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:

Heartless by Marissa Meyer. This was on my shelf for ages before I got around to picking it up. For whatever reason I didn't have high expectations and I gave it 5 stars, I really loved it.

Hidden Gem Book:

I don't know if it counts as a hidden gem because Jennifer L. Armentrout is such a popular author but I loved If There's No Tomorrow and I don't hear anybody talking about it, good or bad.

Important Moment in your Reading Life:

Discovering Booktube and finding wrap up videos and tags that I started making wishlists through.

Just Finished:

By Your Side by Kasie West.

Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:

I don't know that there are any I won't read. There are definitely genres which I'd pick last from a pile. I don't necessarily read historical fiction but that could be because I haven't really read any (that could end up being my favourite genre).

Longest Book You’ve Read:

Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix with a whopping 766!

Major book hangover because of:

    Pretty much anything SJM.

Number of Bookcases You Own:

One. If I don't give a book a 4/5 rating then I'm taking it to a charity shop. My room is tiny and I haven't got enough space to just be hoarding books. I'd say I buy 90% of my books from charity shops or second hand on Amazon so I don't mind not keeping hold of them. Just because I don't love them doesn't mean they aren't great books so I'll give them a shot and then they go to live with someone who might appreciate them more.

One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:

Other than the Harry Potter books I think ACOMAF is the only other one.

Preferred Place To Read:

In bed. I find the more comfortable you get the easier you fly through a good book.

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:

'Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?'

Reading Regret:

I regret not sticking with reading. I adored reading when I was younger but then I just stopped picking books up. I think Mockingjay was one of the last books I finished (before 2017) and that was 2010 so I've got a few years to catch up on.

Series You Started And Need To Finish(all books are out in series):

    1) I've only got the final book in the Firewalker trilogy by Josephine Angelini left to read so I need to get around to that.
    2) I've read up to City of Fallen Angels with Cassandra Clare books so I've still got a few to go.
    3) I've only read up to half way through The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater.
I'm really trying not to start any more series until I've gotten caught up with those three.

Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:

Ooh I have literally no idea so I'm going to cheat and do 2017 favourites instead. A Court of Mist And Fury, This Savage Song and A Monster Calls.

Unapologetic Fangirl For:

     Chaol Westfall. Not even sorry.

Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:

     Legendary by Stephanie Garber.

Worst Bookish Habit:

Buying any and every e-book I might possibly one day want to read when it's discounted and then never getting around to them.

X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:

Letters to The Lost by Brigid Kemmerer

Your latest book purchase:

Everyday Sexism by Laura Bates. One of those books I had in my wishlist and snapped up when the e-book went down to 99p. I'm going to try to read more non fiction this year so hopefully I will get around to this soon.

ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):

I remember reading Unconventional on e-reader before bed but putting it too close to my bed once I'd turned all the lights off and literally didn't go to sleep until I'd finished it. I think I finally got to sleep around 4:30am and had to be up at 7!! Whoops.

What's your most anticipated read of the year?
