2017 Round Up | Best in Beauty

My makeup routine throughout 2017 has been pretty dull. I've generally stuck to the same dozen or so products and haven't really bought many new items. That being said I feel like this means that the products I have been using are products that I love.

2017 was another year of all matte everything and nobody does matte lips like Kat Von D with her everlasting liquid lipsticks (in my very limited experience). Like the rest of the world I've been loving nude shades and whilst Bow and Arrow is my current reach, Lolita will always be the OG.

I also adore NYX soft matte lip creams. I don't find they're as long wearing as the KVD ones but you don't always need a lip product that's going to last all day.
The shade London is my absolute favourite for work days because of how natural it looks.

I'm building quite the collection of green products but the Barry M 'colour correcting wand' is my current favourite. I mix this with my foundation and apply to the areas I need it with a buffing brush.

I think my next product is one I probably heard of through youtube and picked up off Amazon. Let me tell you, Dermacol 'makeup cover' is seriously full coverage. It's the first full coverage product I've tried that actually covers my tattoo. Whilst it can be used as foundation, my shade is too dark for me so I use it as a concealer. It honestly lasts all day and the tiniest amount goes a super long way.

Barry M has always been my go to for nails and this year I've been obsessed with the gelly hi shine range. I'm a black nails kind of girl and this is one of the few lines I've found where I can wear the black without a base coat and not risk my nails going a hideous yellow colour. They also happen to be super pigmented and I generally only need one coat. You really can't go wrong for less than £4.

And lastly, and maybe (?) most importantly, brows. I think it might have been 2016 when I gave in and bought the dipbrow pomade from Anastasia Beverly Hills and I will never look back. I honestly can't imagine ever going back to a pencil or powder.

What were you loving in 2017?
