MY THOUGHTS: Seventeen 'Miracle Matte' skin primer

Seventeen has a huge section in my Boots but I tend to stick to familiar brands (something I'm trying to get out of the habit of doing) but I decided it was time to try a primer. I'd just always accepted that my makeup was going to get crappier looking as the day went on. Why? I wish I'd listened to all the bloggers and vloggers earlier.

Contrary to the norm, my (usually dry) skin has started getting more oily around my t-zone as the weather has been deteriorating. I didn't really want to be paying a lot of money as I hadn't tried a primer before and, like with anything else, it's all about experimenting with what works for you.

This one was £4.99 for 15ml which seemed like one of the cheapest I was going to find so I decided this was a good place to start.
The primer is initially white and blends out to a clear gel like texture.

From the first use of this, my skin played up. I haven't had severe breakouts but it's had enough of a reaction that I've been limiting which days I've been wearing it and narrowing down the places I've been applying it. I started off forehead, chin and cheeks and I've cut down to just my cheeks and just on days when I'm working and have absolutely no time to touch up.

Another issue I've had with this product is that it seems to be highlighting my pores. Pores have never been a big problem for me but throughout the day I've starting noticing them in the mirror.

This isn't all negative. This is a really good primer, it just doesn't work for me. This stuff makes your makeup last so much longer than it would without. It also stays matte all day -perfect! If you read my blog regularly then you will know that I suffer from sensitive skin so I'm not the greatest to judge skincare but if you aren't particularly sensitive and want a primer purely for the 'oil reducing' factor then this is definitely one to try.

Guess I'm on the hunt for a new 'matte' or 'oil free' primer. Any recommendations?
